During the Dutch Design Week 2011, Foodlab+ has opened its doors in Het Ketelhuis; a former industrial building at Strijp-s Eindhoven that has been vacant for years, and is now transformed into a lively meeting place by Andre Amaro. In the Foodlab+, any experiment around food can be done, and people from different disciplines can apply for an ‘artist in residence’ project here. The open source lab will continue to develop itself into a rich platform where interaction between food designers, chefs and scientists is made possible. Also will the space be serving as a temporary event lab, and a source of inspiration on food and eating. Think of special workshops or demonstrations, food+film nights, and cozy culinary parties.
